Why do you ship only in California?
As a small home-based roaster, my permit restricts sales to within the state of California. As the roaster grows, the operations will be moved to a commercial space which would allow for nationwide sales.
How do you choose your beans?
My goal is to have different flavor profiles of beans to cater to different preferences. I typically feature these distinct flavor profiles: one delicate and bright, one classic and comforting, and one unique that's different from typical coffee flavors.
How do you make your coffee at home?
My baseline recipes:
- Espresso: 18g of coffee to 45~54g of water (1:2.5 ~ 1:3 ratio)
- Pourover: 20g of coffee to 320g of water (1:16 ratio) at 200F.
- Bloom: 60g of water for 45sec bloom
- First Pour: 140g of water pour from center spiraling outward, then back in twice.
- 2nd Pour: 120g of water pour from center spiraling outward, then back in once, and finish with slow and gentle pour in the center.
Why is the design and packaging so... janky rough around the edges?
I'm an engineer and not a designer. I can't even draw a straight line. Designs and packaging will improve as I iterate based on any feedback I receive.
